New Lighting at Paws 2 Play Dog Park


GRANVILLE, OHIO (November 22, 2022) New lighting has been installed at the Paws 2 Play Dog Park at Infirmary Mound Park (4351 Lancaster Road, Granville, OH 43023). These lights will turn on automatically at dusk and remain on until approximately 9 pm. Although the rest of the park closes at dusk, dog park users are allowed to remain at the dog park until the lights go out.

Kyle has an extensive background in park and recreation operations, having served 19 ½ years with the City of Groveport, Ohio; the first 7 years as the Parks and Recreation Director, and the last 12 ½ years as the Recreation Director.

Bike Trail Maintenance Agreement


GRANVILLE, OHIO (August 19, 2022) Well-maintained bike trails are a tremendous asset to all Licking County residents and visitors. Beginning in the 1980s, maintaining these trails in unincorporated areas of Licking County was the responsibility of the Board of Licking County Commissioners. After the creation of the Licking Park District, the District assumed more of the maintenance responsibilities, especially after voters approved a park levy in 2012.

Long awaited Ohio to Erie Trail section completed at Newell Recreation Preserve


GRANVILLE, OHIO (July 13, 2022) The Newell Recreation Preserve paved multi-use trail was formally dedicated on June 25, 2022 with representatives from Licking, Knox and Delaware Counties in addition to local mayors, township officials, the Newell family and many others. Attendees also included a national representative of the Great American Rail-Trail Project, commonly known as the Rails to Trails Conservancy.
