Licking Park District – Kayak & SUP Rental Kiosk!

GRANVILLE, OHIO (December 14, 2023) Have you heard the news? Kayak/SUP Rental is coming to Infirmary Mound Park in May of 2024! Rent.Fun will bring kayak and SUP (stand-up paddleboard) rentals to Infirmary Mound Park’s Mirror Lake. A total of (6) kayaks and (2) SUPs will be located in steel lockers.

Park users can rent either a kayak or SUP from an app on their phone. Renters will be charged $25 for a two-hour rental and $15/hour for each additional hour. The self-serve lockers will also include paddles and lifejackets. Persons can also take their rented kayak or SUP with them to a local river or lake, and return the equipment to the unit after their water adventure.

The units are scheduled to be delivered in May. Units will be available for rent everyday from sun-up to sun-down. The kayaks and SUPs will be available to park users on a first-come, first-served basis. Stay tuned for more information this spring.

Please be sure to be safe on your voyage. A few safety tips include:

  • Always boat with a friend.
  • Wear a life jacket at all times, regardless of the temperature or your swimming ability.
  • Tell a family member what you are doing, where you will paddling, and what time you expect to be done. Contact the person when you are done with your trip.
  • Do not overload or unevenly load your boat.
  • If the water looks too hazardous to swim, DON’T boat in it.
  • Carry plenty of drinking water and sunscreen.
  • Stay updated on changing weather and water conditions.
  • Carry a cell phone and whistle. A good zip-lock bag will do if you do not have a “dry bag”.
