Trails at Taft Reserve and Lobdell Reserve are OPEN to HORSES. Trails at Infirmary Mound Park are CLOSED to HORSES due to conditions unsuitable for equine traffic. **TJE Trail east of Granville between the cemetery and Rotary Bridge/Raccoon Valley Park due to bank slip; **There will be periodic closures April 22-26, dawn to dusk, on the TJ Evans Bike Trail from Concord Rd (Johnstown) to the cemetery area in Granville east of Main St for hazardous tree removal. Bike Trails: TJ Evans Trail between Newark and Granville: The TJ Evans bike trail will be CLOSED at the new Thornwood Crossing bridge area, Mon-Fri, 7a-5p, until further notice. There will be other, temporary closures intermittently over the following few months, during working hours (7A-5P; M-F). Youth Fishing Day event at Infirmary Mound Park!
Join Us for a Special Youth Fishing Day Event at Infirmary Mound Park!
Saturday April 15, 12pm-3pm
Catch & Release for all species EXCEPT Rainbow Trout. Five trout max per day, per person harvest limit.
WHAT: Learn knot tying, rigging, casting, fish identification, proper fish handling and habitat from the Granville Fishing Club. Bring your fishing pole, bait & bucket or cooler filled with ice. Enjoy a hot dog, bag of chips and water between casts and be prepared to have a great time. No experience is necessary. Some poles will be available for use on a first come-first served basis.
This event follows a Rainbow Trout release by ODNR earlier in the day. We are giving the kids the first go at them!
ONLY rainbow trout may be harvested from Mirror Lake. All other species are Catch & Release.
WHEN: Saturday, April 15 (12:00 PM – 3:00 PM)
*We kindly request that adults not fish until 3:00 PM.
