Trails at Infirmary Mound Park are CLOSED to HORSES due to conditions unsuitable for equine traffic. **TJE Trail east of Granville between the cemetery and Rotary Bridge/Raccoon Valley Park due to bank slip; **There will be periodic closures April 22-26, dawn to dusk, on the TJ Evans Bike Trail from Concord Rd (Johnstown) to the cemetery area in Granville east of Main St for hazardous tree removal. Bike Trails: TJ Evans Trail between Newark and Granville: The TJ Evans bike trail will be CLOSED at the new Thornwood Crossing bridge area, Mon-Fri, 7a-5p, until further notice. There will be other, temporary closures intermittently over the following few months, during working hours (7A-5P; M-F). Wilderness First Aid Training

This two-day (May 18 & 19) course is being taught by Operation Outdoors, LLC. The class is designed to help non-medical professionals provide assistance in times of crisis. The following topics, treatments and scenarios will be covered: emergency action principles in a wilderness setting, performing primary & secondary assessments, head (brain), neck & spinal injuries, hypothermia, heat-related emergencies, altitude-related injuries, allergies & anaphylaxis, wounds & wound infection, bone & joint injuries, burns & submersion incidents and bites & stings. This class is appropriate for youth service organizations as well as adults who participate in outdoor recreational activities or who work in wilderness or remote settings where emergency medical services response is more than one-hour away. The class will be taught both indoors and outdoors. Please dress appropriately.
