Trails at Taft Reserve and Lobdell Reserve are OPEN to HORSES. Trails at Infirmary Mound Park are CLOSED to HORSES due to conditions unsuitable for equine traffic. **TJE Trail east of Granville between the cemetery and Rotary Bridge/Raccoon Valley Park due to bank slip; **There will be periodic closures April 22-26, dawn to dusk, on the TJ Evans Bike Trail from Concord Rd (Johnstown) to the cemetery area in Granville east of Main St for hazardous tree removal. Bike Trails: TJ Evans Trail between Newark and Granville: The TJ Evans bike trail will be CLOSED at the new Thornwood Crossing bridge area, Mon-Fri, 7a-5p, until further notice. There will be other, temporary closures intermittently over the following few months, during working hours (7A-5P; M-F). Pre-Solar Eclipse 2024

As of 4:45pm we are out of glasses.
Drop by the James Bradley Center at Infirmary Mound Park from 4pm – 6pm to pick up free eclipse glasses while supplies last. Spend some time at eclipse themed activity stations and then have fun at the Nature Playscape!
We will not be in the path of totality on April 8th, but a number of our parks will provide good viewing areas for those that are looking for open spaces!
About the glasses: “These eclipse glasses offer superior protection for observing partial phases of eclipses. They are made with optical density 5 black polymer material that resists scratching. The CE certified lenses of these glasses meet transition requirements of scale for 12-16 of EN 169/1992, 2012 transition requirements of scale for EN 1836:2005 & AS/NZS 1338.1:1992, and the ISO 12312-2:2015 standard from the Queensland Directive. They are also recommended by the American Astronomical Society.”
