Heartfelt Art Felt –  Registration closed

Join artist Megan Henderson to create a one of a kind valentine to keep or give away while we explore wet felting fundamentals, surface design, color and texture in this light hearted two hour class. We will start by learning how to make our own pre-felt. Pre-felt is useful in felting to add more defined and crisper shapes and lines to your piece as well as for a background. Commercial pre-felt is readily available but creating your own is not only economical but allows you to create any color combination you desire. We will use our own custom pre-felt in addition to some commercial pre-felts, wool yarns, cheesecloth and other felting friendly additions to design unique, love themed wall hangings or a piece you can cut up into smaller valentine coasters or textile cards. 

No prior experience is necessary 

Ages 12+

Wool, materials and tools will be supplied 

Please bring a towel for keeping excess water in check while felting, olive oil soap or dish soap, a container of some kind like a plastic bowl or small bucket and a scoop, cup or ladle

If you have scraps of yarn, bits of merino etc that you would like to bring to add please feel free but it isn’t necessary.
