Backyard Conservation: Winter Sowing with Pollinator Pathways

January 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to grow plants from seed utilizing the Winter Sowing method. This easy and inexpensive seed-starting method utilizes repurposed containers to create mini-greenhouses that are placed outdoors during the winter months and produce seedlings to transplant later in spring. Winter Sowing is a great way to start most garden vegetables and many native plants that require cold conditioning in order to germinate.
Susan Studer King is an experienced gardener, former flower farmer and advocate for native plants and conservation gardens. She previously worked for Floret, a flower farm and seed company featured in the Magnolia Network show, Growing Floret. She serves as an advisor for Ace of Clubs 4-H, which designed and planted the pollinator garden in the Kinetic “pocket park” in downtown Granville.
We will meet at the Bradley Center at Infirmary Mound Park.
