**The TJ Evans Bike Trail between Granville and Alexandria will be temporarily closed today, Wednesday, March 27, for a bridge repair project, alongside Raccoon Valley Rd, just west of the Hardscrabble Rd area. **The Buckeye Scenic Trail (Irving Wick to Rt 40) will be CLOSED on Thursday, March 28 for herbicide application. Trails at Taft Reserve, Infirmary Mound Park and Lobdell Reserve are CLOSED to HORSES due to conditions unsuitable for equine traffic. Bike Trails: TJ Evans Trail between Newark and Granville: The TJ Evans bike trail will be CLOSED at the new Thornwood Crossing bridge area, Mon-Fri, 7a-5p, possibly thru Mar 29. There will be other, temporary closures intermittently over the following few months, during working hours (7A-5P; M-F). When: Thursdays, July 7th, 14th, 21st @ 9 -11 AM, Saturday, July 30th @ 9 – 11 AM
July 21st and 30th will focus on Japanese Knotweed at Riverview Reserve.
Invasive plants can take over quickly. Removing them helps support biodiversity in the ecosystem. Volunteers will be shown how to identify invasives and learn best practices for removal using hand tools and herbicide. Tools and gloves will be provided for volunteers. Please wear long pants and close toed shoes. The activity level will be moderate; volunteers will be walking, bending down, and using hand tools.
