Ticks: Diseases and Prevention
March 31, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Ohio is on the front lines of the expansion of ticks and tick-vectored disease that affect humans, companion animals and livestock. We have gone from one medically important tick 20 years ago to five now, adding two new ones in the past two years. Join OSU Extension Educator and Assistant Professor Tim McDermott DVM to find out what is going on right now with ticks in Ohio and how you can keep you and your family safe in 2022.
Tim McDermott has been an Extension Educator in Agriculture and Natural Resources for the past six years after over twenty years in private practice veterinary medicine and surgery in Franklin County. He has lectured state-wide, nationally, and internationally on ticks and tick-vectored disease to Universities, non-profit organizations, government agencies, industry, and public health organizations.
