2021 Bike Trail Berm Project

GRANVILLE, OHIO (December 10, 2021) Following the completion of our recent paving project, the Licking Park District placed ground concrete berm material along the sides of some of the newly paved sections. After several asphalt overlays, the drop off on the sides of the trails can become pretty steep, and berming is an added safety feature for walkers and bikers.

Berming also helps extend the life of the asphalt by keeping the water away from the trail base. This also helps keep ice away from the trail during winter months. In addition, berm material helps support the edges by taking weight off the asphalt to reduce chunks from cracking off.

These projects are made possible by the tax levy dollars provided by Licking County residents. We appreciate your support! The Licking Park District continuously monitors and makes improvements to your park system.
