Wilderness First Aid
October 14 @ 8:00 AM - October 15 @ 5:00 PM| $100
Prepare for the unexpected with this hands-on introduction to wilderness medicine, taught over two days. This course is for you if you work in the outdoors, enjoy family outdoor activities, or recreate outdoors relatively close to medical resources where EMS response can be expected in a timely manner (fewer than 8 hours).
Suitable for all experience levels. You’ll learn the Patient Assessment System, how to provide first aid treatments for injuries and illnesses common in the outdoors, and how to make appropriate evacuation decisions.
The class will be held in classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather, so come prepared! We will meet at the James Bradley Senior Center.
CPR certification is a pre-requisite.
The course will be taught by Denise Natoli Brooks, District Program Administrator & Environmental Education Specialist with Licking County Soil and Water Conservation District.
