Speaker Series: Heard About Herps?

August 2, 2018 @ 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Wonder what a ‘herp’ is? Herptile is a word that is used when talking about both reptiles and amphibians. These are two fascinating groups of animals, with many interesting adaptations and abilities. We will discuss common Ohio reptiles and amphibians, where they live, and how to identify them. Come ready to listen to frog calls, ID venomous Ohio snakes, and learn about Ohio’s silent amphibians!

Marne Titchnell will be the speaker. She has gained experience working as a biological and wildlife technician for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and USDA Forest Service. She has also worked as a naturalist for the Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks, where she developed a passion for environmental education.  In late 2007, Marne accepted her current position as the Wildlife Program Specialist, with the Ohio State University Extension, within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. She works to provide a variety of educational programs, workshops, conferences, and publications centered on wildlife ecology and biology, habitat management for wildlife, and managing nuisance wildlife species.
