Ecoprinting and Natural Dyes Workshop

June 2 @ 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

$50

This is an introduction to contact dyeing using eco-printing concepts and color modifying techniques. With the grounds of Infirmary Mound Park as inspiration we will collect leaves and plant material to print on naturally dyed silk.  Artists Patricia Kresty will demonstrate the process and guide participants in identifying which plants print reliably, fabric preparation, bundling and steaming/steeping methods. We will not be dyeing; the silk will be dyed and ready to print.  The transformation of color and leaf imprints will provide you with your own unique piece of wearable art.

Each participant will design and print a silk scarf or raw silk table runner to take home.  The class is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience.

Registration is closed.
