Kyle Lund Named New Director of the Licking Park District


GRANVILLE, OHIO (September 8, 2022) The Board of Park Commissioners announces the appointment of Kyle Lund as the new Director of the Licking Park District. Kyle has an extensive background in park and recreation operations, having served 19 ½ years with the City of Groveport, Ohio; the first 7 years as the Parks and Recreation Director, and the last 12 ½ years as the Recreation Director.

Licking Park District Board of Commissioners Appoints New Park Director

Licking Park District’s Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Waugh as their new park director effective November 9, 2019. Mr. Waugh most recently served as the Licking Park District’s interim director. He also served on the Board of Commissioners for one year prior to his interim director appointment.

Richard Waugh’s past experience includes five years in public service with the City of Heath and nine years in engineering at ADR & Associates, Ltd in Newark. His background and wealth of experience in management and infrastructure will assist the Park District in its mission to acquire, manage, preserve, and conserve natural areas within Licking County while protecting wildlife and local history. He will continue to support the District’s goal of providing educational opportunities as well as health and wellness activities.

“I look forward to collaborating with the Park District’s many private and public partners across the county in the coming years. In the last two months, several projects have been or are currently being completed. Those projects include maintenance on the bike path, paving at Infirmary Mound Park, new gazebos and trees at the dog park, a canoe/kayak launch at Staddens Landing, a new composite deck bridge on the Buckeye Scenic Trail, and a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Licking County Commissioners to maintain a new preserve, Newell Recreation Preserve, in northwestern Licking County.
