The Licking Park District is pleased to announce that the open Board of Commissioners positions have been filled.

Sam White was sworn in to an open board seat of the Licking Park District on June 11, 2018. He has volunteered with the Park District for the last 5 years, has been the Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 2 in Newark, Ohio for 8 years, is a canoe instructor with the American Canoe Association and is a Materials Manager at Hendrickson Auxiliary Axle Systems in Hebron, Ohio where he has worked for the past 22 years.  His experience in project management, group leadership and outdoor skills will benefit the Park District in outdoor education and conservation of our natural areas. He looks forward to working with current board members to enhance the outdoor experience for our community.

Richard Waugh was sworn in to an open board seat on July 17, 2018 by Judge Robert Hoover.  Richard’s past experience includes 5 years in public service with the City of Heath and 8 years in engineering at ADR & Associates, Ltd in Newark.  His background will assist the Park District in its mission to acquire, manage, preserve and conserve natural areas within Licking County while protecting wildlife and local history.  He looks forward to continuing the District’s goals to provide educational opportunities and health and wellness activities.

The Licking Park District manages over 1,600 acres on ten sites in Licking County.  The Park District also manages over 26 miles of multi-use trails.
