Recently the Licking Park District Board of Commissioners, in cooperation with the Licking County Health Department, voted to make each of the 4 new playground areas at Infirmary Mound Park Tobacco-Free.  The board members are asking tobacco users to refrain from use while in the play areas in order to promote healthy outdoor play for children. LPD Director Bob Williams says, “The health of our park users, especially our kids, is very important to us. This effort will help ensure their health.”

This move was made in conjunction with the Licking County Health Department (LCHD). “Congratulations on passing a TF policy for Licking Park District’s playgrounds! “ said Hilary Requejo, LCHD Health Educator. Tobacco/smoke free signage, made available through grant money from the Licking County Health Department, will be posted to remind park users of the new tobacco/smoke free policy.
